I have never had my eyebrows waxed at a salon before...HELP i have some questions?

I know its not really a big deal but I had a few questions about it. I checked a few salons websites and they all say just eyebrow waxing...this is the same thing as eyebrow shaping right? Ware they pluck/wax the eyebrows so they look good (lol). Also about how long does it take? Could anybody give me a walk though of the whole procedure? Like from the sit down point to the point ware you go pay for it.I have never had my eyebrows waxed at a salon before...HELP i have some questions?
From my experience, the people in the salon ask you to sit in a chair with something behind you to rest your head upon or they have a reclining chair or table. They ask you what your preference is - to ';clean up'; or ';shape'; (ie., to remove stray hairs or the dreaded ';unibrow';) or to thin your eyebrows.

Then the stylist dips a wooden stick (thinner than a Popsicle stick) into a vat of hot wax, removes it, blows on it to make sure it's not *too* hot, and puts it on the hair to be removed.

Next the stylist will put wax paper over the wax... You will feel a lot of pressing and rubbing, so that the paper sticks to *all* the wax and the wax sticks to the hair. The stylist then pulls the paper, wax and hair in one fell swoop. It may hurt for just a second, but it's not bad. This process is repeated until all of the unwanted hair is removed. After all the hair is ';grossly'; removed (ie., no real ';detail work';), the stylist will pluck (';finely'; remove) any hairs that are too short for the wax to get. That's the part that gets me the most. The waxing is fine.

Always make sure that you complain if the wax is too hot. Surface burns can occur if it's too hot. The stylist will show you a mirror and you can ensure that you like the work before you sit up and pay.

Since it's the eyebrows and not a mustache (like mine), it's not that bad. You'll be glad when you're done, because you will look more beautiful than you already are.

Don't forget to tip!I have never had my eyebrows waxed at a salon before...HELP i have some questions?
Well sure, they shape it as they wax. . . . You can generally either walk in or make an appointment at most places, because the whole thing takes like 10 minutes. If it's your first time it might take a little longer to shape. They don't really pluck too much once they have a nice shape formed and you are just touching up . . . It's easy!
Well, I get mine done at Walmart and it's quite simple. You sit, they put the hot wax on and the tape stuff and rip the hair off (she'll typically ask you if you just want it neatened up or if you want it really thin). It only stings for like a quick second and you don't even feel her pluck the stragglers. Than she'll put a moisturizer on the tender spots and the whole thing takes roughly two and a half minutes :) Hope that helps
haha. yeah eyebrow waxing is where they shape your eyebrows. %26amp; it only takes about 10 minutes. you walk in. you lay down then put wax on your eyebrows then put little pieces of cloth %26amp; rip it off. %26amp; ur done
Okay so you walk in, wait your turn, sit in the chair or lay on the table. Then they ask you how you want them, you say NATURAL, NOT TOO THIN! They'll say what they think. They clean the area, slap the wax on there, put the strip of paper on, rip the hair out and repeat. Usually they do above and below the eyebrow. Then they will pluck the stray hairs and do more precise shaping with the tweezers (and yes, waxin includes shaping and all that nonsense). Then they'll put some cream and aloe on there to soothe the area and help the skin heal. It'll take, from sit down to paying, about 10-15 minutes. When you pay, you're suppose to tip them a dollar or two by the way.
hi there i am an esthetican so i believe i can help lol eyebrow waxing is bascially cleaning up regrowth shaping is actually working in a shape in your brows, so yes bascially they are the same but different if that makes anysense! it takes two to three weeks to grow back for the hair to be long enough again to wax. and this is the procedure i do with my clients

i take them upstairs and they lay down on the bed, i put a pre wax solution on their brows to clean up make up and sweet, i put powder on (just baby powder) to protect the skin and keep moisture off so the wax can come up! i wax the middle then i shape! than i trim them if they need to be trimmed put after wax on to stop the sticking of the wax and to sooth the area. take them down and they pay!!! and it's awesome to put watch hazel on your skin after to bring the skin back to it ph level .. i hope i was of some hope good luck!
you sit down they put wax on your brow scrape off where thy don't want to remove, then they apply the material, give it a second and rip it off pluck a few, use scissors to shorten a few . done you pay your $ 7.00 say good bye and leave
First you'll walk in, let them know you're there for your appt. and just wait. Next they'll take you over to a chair and have you sit down. (Well this is how it's done at my salon.) Then they'll probably use some witch hazel or something on a cotton ball to clean the area. They'll apply the hot wax to the hair they want to remove and then use a cloth to rip it off. They'll probably use tweezers to touch it up and they might even use a little comb and comb the hairs upward and then trim them. Lots of places also pencil in your eyebrows after and make sure they look perfect. It takes probably less than 10 minutes.
